The Biblical Hierarchy: How to Interpret Everything Correctly

Most confusion in Scripture doesn’t come from lack of verses, it comes from lack of order.

Some truths are foundational.
Others depend on them.

If you don’t know the hierarchy, you can make the Bible say almost anything.

Today, we simplify it.

The Core Idea

Certain realities in Scripture are absolute.
Everything else must hang on them.

Just as Yeshua said:

“On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets.” — Matthew 22:40

Not everything is equal.
Some truths interpret other truths.

The Biblical Hierarchy (Diagram)

            GOD
             │
         (Source)
             │
         ETERNAL
     (Timeless Truth)
             │
           LOVE
   (Governing Absolute)
             │
       FELLOWSHIP
   (Union with God)
             │
     TRANSFORMATION
 (Result in the believer)

1. God — The Absolute Source

Everything begins with God—not ideas about Him.

  • Genesis 1:1 — “In the beginning God…”

  • Exodus 3:14 — “I AM THAT I AM”

  • Romans 11:36 — “From Him and through Him and to Him are all things”

If your interpretation contradicts God’s nature, it’s wrong.

2. The Eternal — What Doesn’t Change

God is not reacting to time—He stands outside it.

  • Psalm 90:2 — “From everlasting to everlasting, You are God”

  • Malachi 3:6 — “I do not change”

  • Hebrews 13:8 — “The same yesterday, today, and forever”

Eternal truth interprets temporary situations—not the reverse.

3. Love — The Governing Absolute

Love is not optional. It is the framework.

  • 1 John 4:8 — “God is love”

  • Romans 13:10 — “Love is the fulfilling of the law”

  • 1 Corinthians 13:2 — “Without love, I am nothing”

If an interpretation lacks love, it’s misaligned—even if it sounds correct.

4. Fellowship — The Goal (New Testament Center)

The goal is not just obedience—it is union.

  • John 15:4 — “Abide in Me, and I in you”

  • 1 John 1:3 — “Our fellowship is with the Father”

  • 1 Corinthians 6:17 — “One spirit with Him”

Scripture is fulfilled in relationship, not rule-keeping alone.

5. Transformation — The Evidence

True fellowship always produces change.

  • Romans 12:2 — “Be transformed”

  • 2 Corinthians 3:18 — “Transformed into the same image”

  • Galatians 2:20 — “Christ lives in me”

If nothing is changing, something is missing.

How to Use This (Your Interpretation Filter)

Before accepting any teaching, ask:

  1. Does this reflect God’s character?

  2. Is this rooted in something eternal?

  3. Does this align with love?

  4. Does this deepen fellowship with God?

  5. Does this lead to transformation?

If it fails higher levels, re-evaluate it.

Final Thought

Many debates disappear when hierarchy is restored.

Not everything is equal.

God is the source.
Love governs.
Fellowship fulfills.
Transformation proves.

If this helped you, forward it to someone who loves Scripture but wants deeper clarity.

More soon — we’re just getting started.
